Protecting Your Tenants Valuables During Re-roofing
Re-roofing
apartment buildings play a major role in a building owner and managers
budget, time and relationships with tenants. Once the decision has been
made to re-roof, it then becomes the building managers responsibility
to inform and educate their residents on how to make the best of the roofing
experience.
At
Interstate Roofing, Inc., we pride ourselves on being one of the best
in the industry with regards to protection of property, but precautions
are necessary. So in order to limit such occurrences and assure a smooth
and effective job, we provide a basic advice list to our customers. We
recommend that building managers distribute this same list to your tenants.
It
is well known that a happy tenant makes for a happy building manager.
It is our hope that this list will make for many happy tenants after your
next re-roofing project.
- Move all potted or hanging plants inside.
- Remove all damageable items from the deck area.
- Move all cars, boats or other vehicles away from the roofing area so
they will not be damaged by falling debris.
- Inside remove glass shades from all swag and hanging lamps.
- Remove all pictures from the walls and fragile items from the shelves.
- Dust will be prevalent so cover any electronics that may be susceptible
to dust.
- Noise is a factor. If this is an inconvenience, it is advisable not
to be present during the time of work.
A qualified, quality roofing contractor will make every effort to make
the roofing experience positive for both the manager and the tenants. Any
questions or concerns should be discussed immediately in order to clarify
the situation. Good communication between the manager and roofing crew is
key to providing a positive experience for tenants, owners and the manager.
